Fast Day 3
Here we are Day three of the Fast. I mentioned yesterday that days two and three are the hardest. Your body is trying to make you go back to the foods you are used to eating, back to the coffee. It is why your head is hurting. But remember Romans 12:1 ” … Offer your body as living sacrifices, Holy and pleasing to God – this is your Spiritual act of Worship.” This is what you are doing offering your body as a SACRIFICE in Worship to God. So hang in there … It is pleasing to God, your creator. Don’t go back!
What is beginning to happen in your life and mine is like what happened to Isaiah in chapter 6 verse 5, “Woe to me! I cried. I am ruined! (stretched out of my normal, things are different now. Different Food, Different Routines) For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, (why Isaiah, Why is everything so different now … why do you look at people around you so differently) … my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” (NIV)
Isaiah would never be the same. He had experienced God. The experience squashed him flat, squeezed out his pride, his self ambition, selfish desires, now he was available to be used for God’s Purpose, for the greatest fulfillment Isaiah would ever find. Isaiah made himself fully available to God. As we Fast we are making ourselves fully available to God rather than in the religious rut we sometimes get caught in. And when God asked who He should send with a message to His people … guess who in verse 8 screamed “ … SEND ME!” (NIV) You got it … It was Isaiah!
Folks as you Fast as you make yourself available to God, Get ready! He may just call you like Isaiah … May we all answer the same … Send ME!
Blessings,
PJ

Yes, day three was the hardest for me! But God is working in my heart as I focus more on Him. I will be in deep prayer today for those in our own church family experiencing unimaginable pain.
Also praying for those in Haiti.
It is so hard to understand why these things happen, but I stand in the firm Truth, knowing God is here with us, carrying us when needed.
Thank you God for your faithfulness even in my unfaithful life.
Oh, and Rachael made Black Bean Soup and all in the house who are eating, loved it. The link is below. (I have some frozen for later :])

That would be so amazing to have God call me like that! I pray that I will be just like Isiah fully avaliable to God no matter what the cost.!
I really was concerned about giving up coffee as I thought it was how I got my energy to take care of my grandchildren during the day and work at walmart in the evenings but guess what it was Jesus as I am going strong and feeling great. He will supply all our needs what an awesome God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carol, you said it Truly God is Awesome. I rejoice with you. God blesses His people who humble themselves and fast and pray.
Blessings,
PJ
