Fast Day 6
Here we are day 6 of the fast. Probably by now most of us are learning to eat differently. We are intentionally choosing Daniel Fast approved foods. No more fast food. No more usual evening meals. Can you imagine growing up and sitting down every night to the same meal … night after night 365 times a year your meal was exactly the same, nothing different. We would all eventually say “Oh! No not the same old thing Again!”
What if God were hungry and all we offered Him was the same old dull religious routines day after day? Just that same old meal on the table every night … can’t you hear the Heavenly Father saying, “Oh! No not the same old religion thing again!” God does not want our leftovers, He doesn’t want the same thing day after day, same repeated prayer, same compromised life choices, He wants the First. Matthew 6:33, “But seek FIRST His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (NIV)
God doesn’t want to be fed the same old thing anymore than we do, our going through the motions once a week, if we even choose one a week, does not please Him as much as our obedience to Him and to His Word. This is what Fasting is about … it breaks us out of the normal routines … it is a form of Worship, offering your body to God. I think all of us would say the discipline of fasting Humbles us, it reminds us of our dependency on God.
Be encouraged … What is happening to us all is when we truly hunger for God, we get past the routines, the religious stuff because we so don’t want to leave hungry! Give Him your Best, not leftovers and get ready, get excited to Celebrate as we Worship together.
Be Blessed

Awesome, so true!
We had something very interesting happen last night, I really saw satan try to move against us, twist things and try to disturb what we are doing. As we seek God and give to him like we have never done before, how quickly the devil swoops in to try and intervene. This morning I literally had to say outloud, “satan get behind me in Jesus Name”. He was trying to fill my mind, first thing with negative thoughts. The funny thing is, I actually see this as encouragement, what he is trying to use to destroy us makes me dig deeper into God and know that we are truly on the right track. When the devil comes against us to discourage us from what we know is right, then we are doing something right and God is there to protect us, save us and heal us. Thanks for the blog PJ, it really is a great encouragement to read everyday. i am continuing to seek God first and have faith that he always provides.
