Fasting Day 5
Ok first thing, you haven’t missed a day … this is day Five. I was unable to blog yesterday as I spent time with a family in our church who was hurting, please pray for them. If you haven’t seen the news or checked out twitter, the country of Haiti has experienced an earthquake please pray for so many effected by the tragedy.
Day five of the Fast, Remember in scripture when you read about fasting it says and they “fasted and _____” You got Prayed! Fact is a fast without prayer is merely a diet. We must remember to pray! In the scriptures we see Jesus praying privately more than we do publicly so we see the commitment of the Savior to private prayer and there are stories of how He prayed even all through the night. In the garden He prayed with such anguish over our sin that He sweat drops of blood. Prayer is a part of Fasting.
In Mark 4:8, Jesus says, “Still others seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew, and produced a crop, multiplying thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times.” (NIV) Who gets blessings multiplied THIRTY or by SIXTY or HUNDRED times, why not everyone just get a hundred? Is the Hundred times for the saints and the thirty and sixty for the rest of us? Is the thirty times for the hit or miss church attendees and the sixty times for those who work and serve? In Matthew Chapter 6 Jesus says we should do three things: Give, Pray, and Fast.
Look at this way When we PRAY (cause everyone can pray) we release that Thirty Times Blessings, when we pray and GIVE (Even in this economy when we think we have to hold on tight) here comes that sixtyfold blessings … But when we do all three, here comes the Presence, the Blessing of Favor, the Supernatural outpouring of God. The Son of God fasted because He knew there were supernatural things that could be released only that way. Today folks take a life inventory are you doing just One thing, what about two it’s time to give it all Fearlessly in 2010, do all three … Give, Pray, and Fast! The is no telling what God is going to do for those who do … The Bible says “hundred times!”

First let me say the Lord will strengthen our fellow Brother and Sister who is hurting so deeply right now, I am praying for them! My heart is broken in prayer for their healing and strengthen which can only come for our heavenly father above! If there is anyway anyone knows I can help please let me know. They are heavy on my heart.
Day 5 Already, WOW! I feel we’ve just gotten started. I am giving faithfully, I am praying continually, and I am fasting! I am ready to do all three in the name of our holy mighty God in faithfulness! I plan on making 2010 my most amazing Spiritual Growth Year yet. In 2010 I pray that I make the time and most importantly taking it to be faithful to God’s calling in my life. During Fearless 2010 God has shown me I don’t need all the things of the word (food included) they just fill areas where we let them to be happy all I need is time allow in his word and with him in prayer! There is no food that can full you up and make you feel the way or Lord does!
One questions.. How do you keep this fire going once the 21 day fast is over?
