Fasting Day 7
The Bible tells us “If we will seek, we will find.” You have just spent a week disrupting the normal and seeking God, Congratulations!
We must diligently feed on God’s Word and sometimes one of the best thing we can do is to disrupt the normal feeding of the flesh and feed our spirit through a fast. One thing that fasting has done for us this week is to separate what we want from what we need. It causes you to focus on what really matters in your life! And we thought we couldn’t live without coffee and fastfood, yet we have! Fact is I imagine more of us now are really living instead of existing.
Here are a couple of examples of what it means to diligently seek Him as we fast. Diligently seeking Him is when everyone else is going to lunch for that chicken sandwich, fries and of course the brownie and you choose to fore go the invitation and have bottled water and fruit, while reading the Word in order to be with the Lord. Diligently seeking Him is when everyone else has bacon, eggs, toast and grits with a side of hash browns for breakfast and you choose to spend time in Prayer!
So what happens for all this effort, for all this seeking, for all this disruption of what we thought was normal? Hebrews 11:6 says “ … He rewards those who earnestly (Sincerely) seek Him.” (NIV) When God’s children seek He REWARDS! This week we have spent time out of our normal routine diligently seeking God … Get Ready for the Rewards!
Be Blessed
