There is a BIGGER Picture
This week’s devotional is one that God has allowed me to see firsthand. And I want to begin with the BIG Picture. I think that so many times in life we focus on the little things, the things that are right in front of us. And we become so used to doing this we never see anything around us. We neglect the BIG picture. Especially when we are going through disappoints we feel the hurt, hear the sharp words that cut through us but what about the BIG picture. This is something that I learned today. As I look back on hurts in life, remember saying things like why did that happen? Why was that person so mean, thought they were a Christian? Do these phrases sound familiar, maybe you’ve said them? I look back on some times in ministry that were well we will just say not that fun and I realize God brought me through those times as preparation for this ministry now and for what is to come! Remember with God there is ALWAYS a bigger picture!
God has a plan to take the times in your life that you could say, not so fun and use It – not to beat you down and make your life miserable. No, God’s dream is to take that difficulty and through His Goodness, and Unfailing Love supernaturally turn it around and use it to bring you good. He will use those tough times to bring you out stronger, more mature, and prepared for promotion! Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me (Notice what that says, pursue me meaning Follow me, Chase after me – God’s saying to His Children just like we so our own – I’m going to get you – God’s goodness and love will Pursue You) all the days of my life …” (NLT)
Fact is you may not understand it all but know that He does, there is ALWAYS a bigger picture. Keep being faithful. Keep doing the right thing knowing that in the end God is going to turn things around in your favor. If God is for you, who can be against you? No one. Greater is the One who is in you than anyone who can be against you. No matter what’s going on around you today, you can put your shoulders back and put a smile on your face because God has good things in store for your future!
This week make a conscious effort to not look at the small stuff, try and imagine the BIG picture … I promise it is Incredible.
